Lt. Col. Robert B. Weaver, Ret.

Lt. Col. Robert B. Weaver, Ret., 86, died Sunday, September 1, 2013 in Savannah. He was born September 19, 1926 in Alliance, Ohio, to the late Charles and Ruth Patterson Weaver. He was a 1949 graduate of the United States Naval Academy and served 23 years as an Air Force officer. After retiring from the service he earned his Phd. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and became a professor at the Air Force Institute of Technology. He retired as Professor Emeritus after over 50 years of combined service to the Armed Forces. He loved music, cars, golf, his family, and was a generous patron of the arts.

He is survived by his wife and soulmate of 55 years, Irma Silvi Weaver, of Savannah, his daughter Judith Steve, sons Charles Susanne and Robert Jordis, sister Patricia Weaver Ernst and grandchildren Jordan, Emma, Lucy, Pepper and Luka.

A Memorial Service to honor his life will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with the Rev. Jim Giddens officiating.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to The Culver Educational Foundation, 1300 Academy Rd., Box 153, Culver, Ind., 46511.
